SGMP Sacramento Chapter Meeting
"Making Meetings Accessible When Service Animals Are in Attendance"
Thursday, September 15, 2016
Julia Morgan House Event & Conference Center
Planning fully accessible meetings and events might, at "first glance", seem overwhelming, but with proper planning can become second nature to suppliers and planners alike. Join us for this interactive session, "When Service Dogs are Attendees Too" presented by Shari Roeseler, Executive Director of the Society of the Blind.
You Do Not Want to Miss this meeting, it will Change the Way You See Things! You will have the chance to meet with service dogs and navigate by using vision simulation glasses to understand how the world is experienced by someone with a visual impairment.
We guarantee to raise your awareness of disability diversity, as well as the barriers that limit participation by persons with visual disabilities.
Come prepared to be "blindsided". Audience participation highly encouraged!
Along with this powerful hour of information, there is Yes-working and Networking at the charming Julia Morgan House.
The meeting is scheduled from 4:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Registration begins at 4:15 p.m. We look forward to seeing you there!

The Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP) Sacramento Chapter is very excited to announce the annual Silent Auction on October 27, 2016, from 5:30 – 9:00 PM at the McClellan Conference Center. Enjoy a fun-filled evening including dinner, raffles, silent auction, live auction, and a chance to win $500 cash with a special raffle. The event is open to everyone so bring your colleagues, neighbors, friends and family.
This event is our biggest fundraiser of the year! The money raised will go directly to the Sacramento SGMP Chapter educational and scholarship fund, which brings government meeting planners and the hospitality industry together. SGMP will also be supporting a local Sacramento charity, Women Escaping a Violent Environment (WEAVE), by donating a portion of the proceeds to the organization.
If you are interested in donating to the Silent Auction, please see the attached pledge letter and pledge form.
We look forward to seeing you there!
