Welcome to the Sacramento Chapter of SGMP’s Website!!! SGMP is the only organization that focuses exclusively on the needs in the government meeting planning industry. We are the second largest chapter in the nation and our member’s spans across the State of California, many of them are employed by the federal, state, local, county, and city government agencies. Our supplier members represent the hotel industry, convention and visitor bureaus, audio visual companies, airlines, and other meeting-related companies who are dedicated to providing the required resources that the meeting planner needs to complete their job.
The Sacramento Chapter offers a wide variety of educational training opportunities through monthly programs at the local Chapter level, our Annual Education Conference & Tradeshow and at the Annual National Education Conference; this year in Kansas City, MO, May 19-22, 2010, at the Hyatt and Westin Crown Center. Some education topics include, but are not limited to: government ethics; contracting and negotiating tips; government travel do’s and don’ts; understanding the government market; communication skills, meeting planning skills for the novice and advanced; green meetings; FEMA requirements; leadership development; etc.
