Society of Government Meeting Professionals

President's Message

The Sacramento Chapter

Welcome to the Sacramento Chapter of the Society of Government Meeting Professional’s Website. SGMP is the only organization focusing exclusively on the needs of the government meeting planning industry. We are the third largest chapter of SGMP in the nation and our members span the State of California, many of whom are employed by federal, state, county, and city government agencies. We maintain a ratio of over 50 percent meeting planners to suppliers. Our supplier members represent the hotel industry, convention and visitors bureaus, audio visual companies, and other meeting-related industries dedicated to providing the resources meeting planners need to excel at their jobs.

The Sacramento Chapter offers a wide variety of monthly education training, where education topics include: onsite meeting management, next generation learning, disaster preparedness for meetings, re-igniting passion for your job, using food as fuel for energy and focus, and meeting technology. We partner with San Francisco Bay Area chapter to host the annual Joint (chapter) Education Conference & Trade Show where even more education is provided. Also of great value is the next National Education Conference & Expo, May 17-19, 2016, to be held in San Diego, CA.

Come, join the Sacramento Chapter of SGMP and become one of the 120+ local members and one of the 2,700+ nationwide that take full advantage of their member benefits including training workshops, educational contact hours, professional certifications, newsletters, Government Connections magazine, industry forums, scholarships, network of resources, web-based training, and much more.

Browse our user-friendly Website. Our goal is to make SGMPSAC.ORG your “one-stop shop” for training resources and materials, membership, and contacts to help you get your job done. Let me know if I can be of any assistance.
